  17. Questions? Comments?

  18. Employee Satisfaction Steve Desper

  19. Question: I am involved in decisions that affect my work • A committee of administrative staff to discuss implementing new tasks and reviewing currently operational tasks • We will begin each Thursday morning admin staff meeting with an open discussion of current work flow ideas for improvement, and any concerns or questions • Clinic management will be more proactive in discussing possible new projects or work flow alterations as early in the process as is possible to solicit input and suggestions

  20. Question: UNC Healthcare supports me in balancing my work life and personal life • Most felt like UNC Healthcare was generally considerate in this regard, however, some staff feel guilty for taking time off due to the work it leaves for others. Our cross-training program is designed to help with this problem. • Staff also mentioned the difficulties caused by remote parking if they need to respond quickly to family needs. Park and Ride Emergency Ride Back – This service is only available to members of the Commuter Alternative Program (CAP) who have parked their vehicle at a park and ride lot with transit provided by Chapel Hill Transit or requiring a ride to a location within the Chapel Hill/Carrboro city limits, to have access to his/her car/residence in order to respond to a critical situation which is sudden, unexpected, unscheduled, or unanticipated.  962-7867.

  21. Question: My work unit works well together. • Some groups thought this is a positive feature of our clinic, and most all suggested the expanding the cross-training program would help build team unity and appreciation for what our colleagues do.

  22. Question: I am satisfied with the recognition I receive for doing a good job. • Again, some groups thought this a positive feature of our clinic citing our Thursday staff meeting recognitions, “Pickle” award, Division picnic, and staff breakfasts. Suggested opportunities for improvement include having the physicians, management and supervisors more in touch and in tune with the good things staff do in their jobs on a daily basis and offering recognition.

  23. Question: Senior Management is visible at UNC Healthcare. • This question received a low rating both in our clinic and throughout UNC Healthcare. We appreciate Dr. Pignone’s rapid response to this by presenting a “State of the Division” this morning. All of our leadership will strive to improve our visibility in all areas of the clinic.

  24. Question: I would recommend UNC Healthcare as a good place to work. • All responses positive

  25. Question: I would like to be working at UNC Healthcare three years from now. • All responses positive

  26. Question: My job makes good use of my skills and abilities. • All responses suggested staff have more skills and abilities than are currently used. • Suggestions are to provide more opportunities for staff to contribute through cross • Training and additional opportunities to work on special projects. HEARD LOUD AND CLEAR. MANY THANKS.

  27. Question: Different work units work well together at UNC Healthcare. • One group agreed with this statement. • Other responses sought improvement in the referral/ancillary scheduling process. • A QI team has been assembled to improve this process.

  28. Question: Overall I am a satisfied employee. • All responses positive
