  1. The polar regions are the icy areas around the North and South Pole. The Arctic and Antarctic are in the polar regions. Polar bears, penguins, seals, whales, and walrus are a few of the wildlife that live in these very cold regions.

  2. AN ICY LAIR IN THE POLAR REGION

  3. The polar bear or the sea or ice bear are the world's largest land predators.  They can be found in the Artic, the U.S. (Alaska), Canada, Russia, Denmark (Greenland), and Norway.

  4. The polar bear is the most carnivorous member of the bear family: most of its diet consists of fish and seals.

  5. THEY ARE XPERT SWIMMERS, THEY SWIM UNDERWATER TO CATCH FISH.

  6. At birth, polar bear cubs are 12 to 14 inches long and weigh around one pound.

  7. POLAR BEARS ARE VERY PROTECTIVE OF THEIR CUBS.

  8. Male polar bears may grow 10 feet tall and weigh over 1400 pounds.  Females reach seven feet and weigh 650 pounds. 

  9. THE MOTHER BEAR LOOKS AFTER HER CUB UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY GROWN

  10. Global warming is adversely affecting the polar bears, by melting away sheets of Arctic ice very rapidly, which are their floating homesand hunting grounds. Polar bears are also poached for their meat by men.
