About the day • A sports day promoting the 2012 Olympics which also fits in with your curriculum • The year 10 Btec group are organising it • It will last all day on the 10th July • You have to come to school in your PE kit • Opening minds classes – Each class will be given a country • There will be an opening ceremony and each class can make the flag of their country

  3. Activities There will be activities such as: Olympic Activities • Long Jump • Shot Put • Javelin Fun & Games • Tug-Of-War • Sack Race • Target Games

  4. The Olympic Values • Respect – Fair play, You have to know your limit and take care of your health and the environment. • Excellence – how to give the best of oneself, on the field of play or in life; taking part; and progressing according to one’s own objectives • Friendship – how, through sport, to understand each other despite any differences • Courage – Being brave enough to do your best, try new sports and make new friends • Determination – Wanting to do your best in every event • Inspiration – Being able to inspire yourself to do your best • Equality – Treating everyone as equals to yourself

How we can promote them • Respect – By fair play, no one cheats, also by looking after each other • Excellence – Everyone taking part in at least one event and giving their best in it • Friendship – Cheering on members when your not competing • Courage – Everyone taking part, trying new sports, making new friends • Determination – Doing your best in every event • Inspiration – Finding the will to do your best • Equality – Treating everyone equally

  7. The Countries AMERICA GREECE SPAIN CHINA RUSSIA AUSTRALIA We chose these countries because they are the last ones to host the Olympics SOUTH KOREA CANADA GERMANY

  8. What we want you to get out of the day • We want you to take part • We want you to take part in a team • An most of all we want you to have fun and to learn what the Olympics is all about
