  15. NATIONAL

  16. What we will do • Build a stronger sense of community across the southern end of Lambeth’s Bishops Ward, transforming it into an environment where people – including families – feel safe, happy and proud to live, learn and work alongside one another.

  17. Stimulate a local culture of enterprise and self-help. • Raise aspirations as well as educational and employment opportunities.

  18. Reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. • Develop South Waterloo into a world class tourist destination by more effectively extending London’s South Bank to the Imperial War Museum.

  19. Encourage an environment where the private and public sector work in deeper partnership.

  20. Facilitate a new networks & deepened partnerships between community leaders, residents, local employers, schools, public sector bodies (e.g. police, social services), other voluntary agencies and places of worship.

  21. Insure outstanding ‘joined up’ community services for local residents. • Create opportunities for local people to get involved in shaping the work and buying into delivering the change itself.

  22. Deliver a landmark building, through rebuilding the Oasis Centre as a community hub - constructed to the highest design and environmental standards.

  23. A Beacon of Hope

  24. Our Key Incarnational Principle: To do things ‘with’ people Not ‘to’ people Or even ‘for’ people

  25. Shalom ‘peace; nothing missing; nothing broken; wellbeing; complete.’ Shalom covers well-being in the widest sense of the word, incorporating notions of contentment, health, prosperity, justice, unity and salvation - at individual, communal, national, international and creational levels.

  26. Our purpose is always to create a rich and balanced environment catering for the whole person and the whole community: Socially, morally, spiritually, physically, emotionally, academically, vocationally, economically and environmentally

  27. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God

  28. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’ He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’ Revelation 21:1–5

  29. Two Greek words for the English word ‘new’: • Neos means ‘brand new’ • Kainos means ‘renewed’

  30. Now that’s a 2020 VISI N!
