  1. All about Metal Fabrication and Its Different Processes Metal fabrication is defined as the process of converting a raw material into pre-made shapes for assembly use. For example, panels used for the frame of automobiles are developed by using custom metal fabrication Brisbane processes which is generally done at the fabrication facility and sent to auto-assembly plant. What is the metal fabrication process? There are different processes used for different types of metal fabrication, and each process requires specific skills and practices to use the tools and machines. Each metal fabrication process will generally include the cutting, drilling, folding and welding of the material. · Cutting: — Cutting is commonly used in metal fabrication process when sheets of metals are divided into halves, thirds or smaller parts. In most applications, metal is cut and shaped in a particular way. Some of the applications use pre-shaped metals such as measured panels and bars for cutting. Different types of machineries like CNC lasers and plasma torches are used for more elaborate and high-tech pieces. · Folding: — This is one of the more tedious processes of metal fabrication. In this particular process, the metal surface is positioned to create a shape at a certain angle. For some applications, the metal surface fold has a 90 degree or another angle that is more or less blunt. When it comes to folding metal,

  2. specific facilities are required to perform it with specialist high- tech equipment due to the complexity of this process. · Welding: — This process of metal fabrication Brisbane includes the joining of two different metal parts like sheets, panels, bars or shapes made of metals. Welding can be done by using a number of different methods and tools types. Mostly, welding is done by the application of heating metal to the point where two metals are to be joined. · Machining: — In the machining process, a machine is utilized for removing a particular portion from a piece of metal. This process is done on a lathe machine in which metal is rotated against tools that trim the corners and edges to cut down the pieces into specific shape or measurement. · Shearing: The process in which metal sheets need a longer cut is called shearing. In some cases, the sheet is served horizontally via a metal cutting machine. However, in others, application cutting tools are used vertically against the length of the metal sheet. There is another method in which the metal is placed over the edge of an open cutter and lowering the blade. Shearing is mostly done for trimming down the edges of metal sheets but this process may be done anywhere along the metal. · Stamping:- In some applications, it is required to raise a certain portion of the metal sheet without penetrating it. For such applications, a stamping process is utilized to form certain shapes, images or letters within a metal sheet or panel. Metal stamping is similar to relief carving in marble or wood. The most common example of metal stamping can be seen on coins where words, currency amount and faces are stamped on the surface.

  3. · Casting:- This is one of the oldest types of metal fabrication processes. In this process, molten metal is transferred into a mold and left to set into a specific solid shape. Casting is considered one of the ideal methods for a wide range of complex shape makings. In most cases, casting is used to provide solutions for fabrication problems. The common metals used for this application include copper, gold, iron, silver and magnesium. Custom metal fabrication Brisbane processes include different complicated systems of tools and machinery; therefore you should approach a trusted company for your metal fabrication project requirements. Brisbane Metal Products (BMP) is one such trusted name that provides the finest quality metal fabrication Brisbane services to businesses. They have a fully integrated ISO 9001:2015 certified workshop with the capability of handling all the aspects of your fabrication needs, ranging from metal component manufacturing to full assembly.
