  1. Elijah Of BUXTON By: Christopher Paul Curtis Power point by: Marquese B. 

  2. Genre The Genre of this book is fiction because Elijah is not real neither is Buxton. Hoop snakes are also fake. It is not a biography because like I said Elijah IS NOT REAL.

  3. Setting The setting of “Elijah of Buxton” is mainly in the outdoors and in the woods. It takes place in the south in a settlement for run-away slaves. The book takes place in many more places but they are not the main places. The season is in the summer.

  4. summary and plot • Elijah is an 11 year old boy who loves to swim and fish. He is the first child born out of slavery in the settlement. He is known as a “fragile” child because when he sees a snake he goes running. Cooter is his best friend. He is also 11 and likes to fish. Cooter’s mom’s truck patch has strange tracks that none of them have ever seen. The preacher says that they are hoop snake tracks. Cooter goes running and Elijah goes screaming.

  5. Recommendation Elijah of Buxton is one of the best books ever. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars. A must read book for how amazing it was. It was so well written and I felt like I was in the book.
