Australia Post consumes around 2.0 petajoules of energy a year Fleet 10,000 vehicles - 30 million litres of fuel * Heavy vehicles (5% of our fleet) consume 70% of our transport fuel Facilities 1,200 facilities: - 800 retail outlets - 140 delivery centres - 12 major processing * Top 80 (6%) facilities consume 70% of stationary energy | EEO presentation| 30 August 2012

  4. 1st Cycle EEO ARS – 2005 to 2011 • Key Outcomes from EEO • Carbon reduction target • 25% carbon reduction target by 2020 (2000 base levels) • FacilitiesNational Energy Management Program (NEMP) • Investment of around $11.6 million for around 120 facilities • Savings - 11,000 GJ energy, $3.5 million p.a. (fully implemented) • FleetTyre pressure policy • To ensure tyres kept at correct pressure • Savings - 2.5% fuel use, 19,000 GJ and $400K p.a. • Environmental driver program • Targeted behaviours like engine revving, idling, harsh acceleration etc • Savings - 2% fuel use, 7,000 GJ and $240K p.a. | EEO presentation| 30 August 2012
