  2. Project Overview • Rebuilding existing general purpose lanes • Improving/expanding frontage roads • Adding TEXpress lanes

Project Benefits • Improved mobility along the most congested corridors in Texas • Road capacity nearly doubled • Reconstructed main lanes (free) • Expanded frontage roads • Four new managed toll lanes (two in each direction) • Managed lane network to extend from North Dallas to downtown Fort Worth

  4. Economic Impact • 2,100 workers along the corridor • 160 companies • 190+ DBE contract awards • $1.299 billion spent on construction • $1.5 million spent per day (avg.) • Spurring new economic development throughout corridor New Outback Steakhouse in Hurst

  5. Operations & Maintenance • Ordinary maintenance, cleaning and mowing • Assistance to motorists in need • Snow and ice removal • Incident response

Segments 1 & 2 Airport Freeway & Loop 820 PROGRESS • Project is approximately 90% completed • Roadway will open in late 2014 – six months ahead of schedule • Opened new WB Grapevine Hwy. 26 on-ramp • Re-opened EB Iron Horse on-ramp • Re-opened WB Iron Horse off-ramp • Re-opened EB off-ramp to Industrial Blvd. • Final pavement placed along eastbound and westbound frontage roads Central Dr. to Murphy Dr./Westpark Way Beach Street Riverside Drive bridge

Segments 1 & 2 Airport Freeway & Loop 820 UPCOMING ACTIVITY • Placing final layers of asphalt along main lanes and frontage roads • NOTE: Traffic shifted to TEXpress lanes between Grapevine Hwy. 26 and Riverside Dr. in June • Opening final configuration of Brown Trail • Opening final configuration of Forest Ridge Dr. • Opening new eastbound Brown Trail on-ramp Brown Trail SH 121/183 Split

Segment 3A I-35W – Downtown Fort Worth to I-820 interchange (6.5 miles) PROGRESS • Official groundbreaking: May 1 • Right-of-way acquisition underway • Pre-construction work started • Geotechnical surveys being completed • Start heavy construction in 3Q 2014; complete in 2018 • Existing main lanes, frontage roads, interchanges, bridges, ramps and overpasses will be reconstructed • New TEXpressLanes added in both directions • Segment 3B construction underway
