    4. PMF Fellows Appointed at GS-9, 11, or 12 based on qualification and agency need (Salary: $51,630 - $97,333 based on 2011 Salary Table for the Washington, D.C. Area) Individual Development Plans 80 Hours Formal Classroom Training Per Year Rotational Opportunities

    5. Eligibility Graduate Students Who Expect to Complete an Advanced Degree from a Qualifying College or University during the period September 1, 2011 – August 31, 2012

    6. Application Process Online Application -- “Applicant” UIS Nomination Process -- “Nominee” Online Assessment -- “Semi-Finalist” In-Person Assessment -- “Finalist” Secure Position with Federal Agency ? “Fellow”

First Stage of the Application Process Application Period: September 15 – 25, 2011 Apply online (www.USAJOBS.gov or via link at www.pmf.gov) Link a USAJOBS resume or upload a resume Complete Qualifications Questionnaire Submit supporting document for Indian/Veterans’ Preference, if applicable Submit nomination form + required materials to UIS

    8. Qualification Questionnaire Personal Information Geographic Employment Preference Indian and Veterans’ Preference Eligibility Citizenship Graduate School – select IL from state list, then select UIS from list Degree Information Keys Skills/Competencies Other

    9. Nomination Process Universities must have a competitive process that covers applicants’ “Breadth and qualify of accomplishments Capacity for leadership Commitment to excellence in leading and managing public policies and programs” Students eligible for Veteran’s preference and qualified for UIS’ competitive process must be nominated

    10. UIS Nomination Process Materials to be Submitted to UIS by noon (CST) on Friday, September 23 Contact Information (name, email, phone #) Copy of Transcript Answers to Two Essays Indian and Veterans’ Preference Eligibility Statement, if applicable Nomination Form (may be turned in Monday, September 26th by 9 a.m.)

    11. Notification of Nomination UIS will notify you regarding whether or not you have been nominated If nominated, check status on Application Manager to ensure your status is updated to “nominated” If not, contact Professor Bunch (bbunc1@uis.edu or 217-206-6080)

    12. Online Un-Proctored Assessment Situational Judgment Test Multiple choice questions regarding hypothetical job scenarios Life Experience Training Experience Education Life History Writing Sample Essay in response to prompt or target topic

    13. Assessment Centers 6 locations (Chicago is closest to Springfield) Mid-November – mid-December 1-hour individual structured interview Assessment Study Guide to be posted to website

    14. Evaluation of Critical Competencies Nominees/Semi-Finalists are evaluated on the following critical competencies: Adaptability Integrity Interpersonal Skills Motivation to Serve Oral/Written Communication Problem Solving

    15. Placement PMF Job Fair in Spring Can search online for agency positions Finalists have 12 months to be appointed by federal agency as Fellows

    16. Key Dates Sept. 15-25: Submit application materials Sept. 23: Submit nomination materials to UIS Sept. 30: UIS submits nominations Oct. 1-10 Complete on-line assessment process Nov. 1*: Semi-finalists selected and invited to in-person assessment Nov. 14 - Dec. 16*: Semi-finalists complete in-person assessment process Jan. 24*: Finalists selected and notified Feb./March 2012: Job fair *subject to change
