  1. AP/Honors Parent and Student Meeting Moving ahead academically!

  2. Why AP/Honors? • Honors course prepare your students for the more challenging AP (Advanced Placement courses). • AP courses give students the opportunity to receive additional gpa points toward their overall g.p.a. A “B” grade, is like getting an “A” grade in a non-AP class.

  3. AP Exams • Students may take AP exams in various subjects and receive college/university credits for the classes for which they receive high test scores. • Passing AP exams helps students move through university requirements at a faster pace.

  4. Rigor and Dedication • AP/Honors courses require extra hours of study and dedication! • You must be committed to excel and give extra time to your homework and your studies! • Each class will have some sort of summer assignment. • You must complete the assignments, as given BEFORE school starts in August!

  5. AP Physics and Spanish Literature • Both classes had low enrollment numbers and must be cancelled. • Classes must have 25 or more students to stay open.

  6. AP Gov and Politics • Mandatory meeting Monday June 16th at 12:20 during lunch to go over class expectations and receive your summer assignment.

  7. IB History of the Americas and APUSH • Mandatory meeting Monday June 16th at 3:00 after school to go over class expectations and receive your summer assignment.
