  17. Protective Doors

  18. Protective Doors Testing and approvals of blast resistant doors Due to the large size of the object, blast testing of the blast resistant doors is usually difficult and very expensive. Therefore, the design is usually based on either static or dynamic analysis, where the design load application is given in static pressure or pressure-time load. New 3D-design and analysis tools are routinely used in blast resistant door design.

  19. Protective Doors • The reinforcement of blast protective bulkheads and walls shall be made properly to ensure protection against blast effects. Temet can provide the bulkhead reinforcement design. • The proper installation and alignment of protective doors shall always be checked before casting. Temet can provide the installation supervision services.

  22. HVAC protection

  23. Blast protection and gastight closing of HVAC systems

  24. Valve products Temet Blast Valves: applications in: • blast barriers of air tunnels • passage way ventilation • diesel generator exhaust system Temet Gastight Closing Valves: applications in: • air ducts along the gas tight perimeter for separation of toxic free and contaminated areas and for regulation of the internal overpressure Temet Other Valves: • Overpressure valves for regulating the internal overpressure • Combined blast/overpressure valves

  25. Blast Protection up to 60 bar short duration blast Maximum air flow: PSV-350 7200 m3/h (4240 cfm) PSV-250 4000 m3/h (2350 cfm) PSV-150 2500 m3/h (1470 cfm) - Ease of installation in the wall and between ducts - Saves wall space Blast Valves PSV-series Normal ventilation position Blast pressure from the outside Valve closes Negative pressure from the outside Valve closes

  26. Blast Valves PSV-series

  27. Blast Valves PSV-series

  28. Blast Valves PSV-series • PSV-series Blast Valves provide space saving bulkhead solution. • The installation of the valves is very simple. • The valve can be provided with flanges at both ends for duct connection. • The PSV-series blast valves combine high protection level with high air flow capacity. Alternative installations

  29. Blast Protection up to 15 bar short duration blast Typical Air flow in one block 720 m3/h (424 cfm) Can be built into I-beam wallshousing, hundreds of valve blocks Blast Valves PV-KK

  30. Normal ventilation position Blast pressure from the outside Valve closes Negative pressure from the outside Valve closes Operation of PV-KK valves

  31. PV-KK Installation Versions PV-KK to be cast in concrete wall. PV-KK-SM for surface mounting by anchor bolts to concrete wall or by welding or bolting to steel wall PV-KK-W to be installed in an opening by welding to subframe or steel structure.

  32. Gastight valves with nominal diameter from 100 - 800 mm Leakage does not exceed (KS-350) 0.001 l/s at pressure differential of 1000 Pa. Valves can be provided with electric, pneumatic or electro-mechanic fail-safe actuators. Wide range of applications in protected buildings, petrochemical and nuclear power industry Gastight Closing Valves KS-series

  33. Blast Protection up to 3 bar short duration blast Hand-wheel for adjusting overpressure in shelter Gastight when closed manually Overpressure blast valve YV-1 Blast pressure from the outside damper closes Normal ventilation position

  34. NBC Protection in Shelters

  35. NBC Protection in Shelters Temet NBC-Filters, NBC-filtration systems and Emergency Ventilation Units: Applications in: • Filtration of Nuclear Fallout, Biological and Chemical Warfare Agents and Toxic Industrial Chemicals Environics Chemical Warfare Agent Detection and Analyzing Systems: Applications in: • Detection of CWA in intake air and downstream of filters • Monitoring of contamination

  36. NBC Filtrations systems

  37. NBC Filters • Temet ES-600 NBC-filter • Filtration capacity 600 M3/H (353 cfm) at nominal pressure drop ~ 800Pa • Blast resistance of the filter 2 bar • Mechanical resistance 20g. • Tested and Approved by: • Technical Research Centre of Finland/VTT Building and Transport, • Defence Forces Research Centre • New carbon available for wide spectrum removal of CWA, TIC’s and radioactive gases

  38. NBC Filters • Temet ES-1250 NBC-filter • Filtration capability 1250 m3/h (735 cfm) at nominal pressure > 800Pa • Blast resistance of the filter 2 bar • Mechanical resistance 20g. • Tested and Approved by: • Technical Research Centre of Finland/VTT Building and Transport • Defence Forces Research Centre • NBC filter with the highest air flow capacity available.

  39. Emergency Ventilation Units • Temet VIL Emergency Units are designed for small and medium sized shelters. • All units has in-build pre-filters and optionally can be provided with intake air pre-heater. • VIL-units occupies less space than any other similar equipment. • Each unit are provided with air flow meter.

  40. NBC Filtration Systems

  41. NBC Filtration Systems

  42. Automatic NBC-filtration units are used for NBC- ventilation in Military Command Posts and Operational Shelters. Filtration system utilizes the data of NBC-detection system and changes to close-up and filtrations modes without manual operation - increases the safety of personnel inside the shelter. Automatic Modular Filtration Systems ESL-3000 3000 M3/H (1765 CFM) CLEANED AIR

  43. The ESL-A-series provides an optional stand-by line that can be taken into use at any time. The sophisticated control system monitors the performance of the NBC-filters, and automatically starts the operation of the stand-by line. Automatic Modular Filtration Systems ESL-3000 WITH STAND-BY LINE 2 x 3000 M3/H (2 x 1765 CFM)

  44. Sophisticated control system continuously balances the airflow within the NBC-filtration bank - maximizing the efficiency of NBC-filters. Filtration unit can be integrated to a building management system. Automatic Modular Filtration Systems

  45. Main modules: NBC-blower module with main control valves and pre-heating and pre-filtration system, NBC-filter modules with control and gastight closing valves, Control panel. The systems are completely ground shock isolated Automatic Modular Filtration Systems

  46. Automatic modular systemsSimple installation at site Installation requires only small amount of work, simply connect electrical cables and ducts, and the unit is ready for operation.

  47. CO2 Regenerative Carbon Dioxide Removal System Temet ESL-CO2-230-B is fully automatic Regenerative Carbon Dioxide Removal System. The System is designed to be used in any facility having a gastight envelope that needs to be fully closed in dangerous situations. Removing carbon dioxide (CO2 ) from the atmosphere is an important function of a life supporting system.

  48. CO2 Regenerative Carbon Dioxide Removal System The ESL-CO2-230-B ensures safe stay for persons duration a close-up mode, when no fresh, purified air is supplied to the facilities. This stand-alone system requires only connection to main power and existing ventilation ductwork and occupies less space in the plant room than any other corresponding system. This is an important aspect especially in military hardened facilities where each square meter of shelter space has significant cost impact.

  49. Adsorption media reusable after regeneration cycle long button-up stay in the shelter possible based on solid amine material - no need for stockpiling of adsorption material for refill less space needed CO2 Regenerative Carbon Dioxide Removal System
