  2. Step 1: Brainstorm • What do I already know? • Examples • Idea Webs • KWL Charts

  3. Step 2: Create Questions • What do I need to know for my research project? • Base your questions on what the teacher is asking you to write about. • Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How?

  4. Step 3: Research and Note Taking • Only use sources that are reliable. • Yes: • Discus • Encyclopedia • Dictionary • Textbooks • Accredited website (no opinions) • No • Wiki anything • Opinionated blogs or articles • Note taking • Notecard • Interactive Notes • Must have question, paraphrasing/summarizing, and bibliography information • Do not write your notes word for word

  5. Step 4: Organize • Organize your thoughts • Make sure that all of your research questions have been answered. • Your notes need to be in order and labeled correctly. • Your sources are in order and ready to be placed on the final page. • Your information is put in the correct locations.

  6. Step 5: Communicate/Present your findings • Type your paper in black ink only • Double Space • 12 Font • MLA Format
