  2. Crash Forms Catalog • An on-going effort for almost 10 years by NHTSA • Historically done as printed book • Book format had limitations… • Changed to electronic catalogue in 2000.

  3. Crash Forms Catalog Contains: (or is adding) • State (and some local) crash forms as images • Basic information on crash data • Police Office Coding Manuals

  4. Crash Forms Catalog • Adding Crash Facts Books • Adding data dictionary information • Expanding crash data summary pages

  5. How You Can Help… • Review what is on file for your State • Identify any missing information • Submit current contact info, forms, documents that you may have • Ask the proper “contact” for your state to connect with TSASS

How You Can Help… • Provide originals of crash forms, and templates • Submit your Police Officer Coding Manual (*) • Submit the Data Dictionary for your Crash Data System (*) • Submit a copy of your Facts Book, or link to your on-line Facts Book. (*) * - Electronic version (word, PDF) if possible

  14. Systems contains aggregate data for all exposure components including: • Census Data • Highway Travel & Mileage • Vehicle Registration • Driver Licensing • Crash Counts

  17. Intended Audience • Anyone interested in Basic Traffic Data • Traffic Engineers in small, rural counties • MPO’s creating comparison with other Large Cities • High School Students & Teachers • Many of the people in that tall stack of data request for the State Programmer • Etc.

  25. What is it? • A survey of basic information about various traffic records systems within a given state • Used by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to establish a contact database for the NHTSA Traffic Records & Driver Licensing Team
