WHO-UNECE task force meeting: some highlights NEWS • IARC (International Research Agency on Cancer): the air pollution mixture as well as particulate matter has been classified as carcinogenic to humans. Worldwide 15% of lung cancer deaths is related to air pollution. http://www.iarc.fr/en/media-centre/iarcnews/pdf/pr221_E.pdf • First steps towards a revision of the WHO AQG. Update should also focus on providing recommendations on exposure reduction and on the benefits for health of improving AQ. • Guideline for indoor air quality guidelines for household combustion (to be issued end 2014).
