Stock Market Crash • 100- Black Tuesday refers to this specific date which is when the stock market crashed and investors quickly sold their stocks • 200- This profession did not experience the economic boom of the 1920s due to overproduction • 300 – The easy availability of this led people to buy items they could not afford • 400 – This organization is in charge of regulating the nation’s money supply • 500 – This type of investing in the stock market is riskier because if stocks dropped brokers could force investors to repay their loans immediatly

Great Depression • These are loose-knit communities of rustic shack and tents named for the person they blamed for them living here • This President came under attack during the Great Depression for not fully grasping about how desperate the American people were • People who hoped on trains to look for work were giving this name • This term describes the devastation of the Great Plains drought brought on by no crop rotation, over plowing of the fields, and plowing up prairie grasses • This tariff did not work because European nations responding with their own tariff making it harder for farmers to sell their crops overseas

New Deal • She transformed the role of first lady by gather information for FDR, traveling, writing, and attack social problems • This goal of Roosevelt's New Deal tried to ensure that a depression was never experienced again (relief, recovery, …..) • To stop the run on banks that threatened healthy banks Roosevelt declared this on his second day in office • This group misstep caused President Roosevelt to lose support of some in his own party and the general public because they thought he wanted too much power • When there is a negative balance in budget due to the government spending more than it is taking in is called what (hint for test: Keynes believed this helped the economy)

New Deal Programs • This program still around today provides pensions for many Americans 65 and older • This program gave employment to young unmarried men in many of our national parks • This program is still around today, is the watchdog of the stock market, and helped the public regain faith in the stock market • This program still around today helped restore public confidence in the safety of the nations banks by insuring your money in the bank • The Supreme Court struck significant blows to the New Deal program by declaring these two programs unconstitutional
