  3. What is VirtualSC?

  4. There is noguaranteethat students will be enrolled in requested courses. Students will need to login to the My VirtualSC Student Portal to verify enrollment and course placement. Please remember that registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis with a consideration of the grade level. • Counselor approval simply means that the high school agrees to sponsor the student in the course. The student will then join the placement que for the requested course. Student placement is subject to seat availability. • Students can make request for Integrated Business Applications or Physical Education. • The Student Orientation is require before course access will be granted.

  5. Special considerations with online learning • Student Effort = Student Success • Online Classes Demand Excellent Time-Management Skills • Online Classes are as Difficult as Traditional Classes • Real Teachers Teach Online Classes

Online Learning Study Tips • Familiarize Yourself With Online Learning Practices and Expectations • Confirm the Course’s Technical Requirements • Ensure Reliable Internet Access  • Create a Dedicated Study Space • Budget your time, set schedules, and complete work on time • Be polite and respectful • Ask for Help When You Hit a Wall • Stay Motivated

Important dates and deadlines • Registration window is May 22, 2019 through May 29, 2019. • Classes begin June 5thand will be open for access at 8 am. • Students MUST start working within the first 5 days of class, or they will be removed from the course. • The last day to withdraw from a course without penalty is June 18, 2019. • The last day to submit assignments is August 1, 2019. • The final exam must be proctored at the school site between July 30, 2019-August 1, 2019. • Students/parents will contact their high school counselor to confirm specific details for the exam date, time and location. Some schools may have specialized procedures with testing a few days earlier. • Final grades will be posted on VirtualSCAugust 5, 2019.
