  2. Qualifications • Any U.S. Citizen 18 years old or older. • Lived in district 30 days. • Register before the election. {The 4th Wed. before the election.}

  3. Disqualifications • Felony conviction or misdemeanor and in jail. • Person deemed incompetent.

  4. Absentee • Handicapped • Someone prevented by illness or absence.

  5. Types of Elections • There are three types. • Election of representatives. • Vote on Constitutional amendments. • Proposals and Referendums.

  6. MO Elections • MO has seven elections • General election • School Referendums • Special Elections.

  7. Direct Primary Election • First Tuesday in August after the first Monday. Every two years. • Partisan Running in an established party. • Nonpartisan No party

  8. Your Right to Vote • A Voter can’t be arrested on election day; unless very serious crime has been committed. • Serving in the military • All citizens have a voice, if they execute their right to vote.
