  1. Have a Glance at How the Outbreak of Covid-19 is Affecting Campus Placements With COVID-19 taking over the country, the labour market remains one of the most adversely hit areas. With dropping salaries, delayed or cancelled campus placements, the picture of the country's future seems to be a catastrophe. While companies are finding it hard to meet their ends, graduates and postgraduates are facing the consequences.

  2. Let's get briefed up with the current scenario of campus placements and the struggles these students of BBA course and others are facing. 1. Delay or Cancellation of Campus Placements The major setback that students have to face after completing their B.Tech syllabus is the withdrawal or delay in the placement offers made to them before the pandemic took control. Graduates of B.Tech engineering are striving hard to retain their internships. Almost 11 students belonging to IIT-Delhi, IIT-Kanpur and IIT-Madras have got theirs repealed solely because of depressing economies. Final year students of B.Com programme are also struggling for the same cause as IIM-Calcutta has cancelled six job offers. According to the statistics stated by Naukri.com, 44% of the students' internships were delayed. At the same time, the other 66% didn't even receive the offer letters. The students of BBA course are no exception. An extremely distressing situation has come out since Uber withdrew its job offers from IIMs, MDI and SPJIMR. 2. Companies Retaining Their Placement Offers While many organisations have either deferred or rescinded their offers to B.Tech engineering graduates, there are still some companies which are encouraging students in such gruesome times by extending their placement offers to them. By conducting online interviews to the graduates of B.Tech computer science and other fields, technology companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Google, Wipro, PayU, Accenture, PepsiCo, etc. are open to new recruitments and even entry-level job offers. Graduates of B.Com Hons are also welcome onboard Flipkart. TIPS FOR STUDENTS TO GET HIRED DURING THE PANDEMIC It's quite evident now that the break put on the economy and labour market by the outbreak of COVID-19 has led to unfavourable outcomes. Therefore, the B.Com Hons students, as well as others, will witness a massive rise in competition, for which they must brush themselves up. Following are some tips for graduates of B.com programme and other courses as well, looking for freshers' positions for work:

  3. 1. Take up online courses to gain new skills and knowledge 2. Take online personality development classes to polish up communication skills and logical reasoning to crack interviews. 3. For the ones interested in engineering and technology, learn things out of your B.Tech syllabus as well, turn towards technology and the latest changes that have taken place following the pandemic, to be fluent with the new style of work expected by companies. There are many extra courses available for students of B.Tech computer science online to gear up their skills. Conclusion Job hunting has become a lot more challenging than it ever was. And even if you find a job, the paycheck will fall insufficient to provide you stability. The only way to survive is to prepare yourself the best you can. Although many companies have announced deferment for campus placements, there still lies hope in many other organisations. Don't lose your faith and work as hard as you can!
