  2. School TVET Coordinator + School Support Teacher Transition liaise regarding applications for students with a disability

  3. School Support Teacher Transition • 1. Checks that each student with a disability • Disability Confirmation sheet • Information demonstrating interest in the course and inclusion of the course as part of the HSC pattern of study. • Previous assessments- Information on learner characteristics & needs • Details of the level of current support • Medical and Neurological reports, where necessary • Health Care Plan, where necessary • Risk Assessment

  4. 2. Completes Section 1 of Record of Negotiated Additional Supports for Students with a Disability in TVET 2015 prior to meeting with the TAFE Disability Consultant

  5. 3. Contacts the TAFE Disability Consultant to arrange a negotiated support meeting

  6. TAFE Disability Consultantadvises the TAFE Disability Coordinatorof referrals from Support Teacher Transition

  7. TAFE Disability Consultant + Careers Adviser + School Teacher Transition + VET Teacher + Student/Parent Meet to discuss the suitability of the TVET course for the student and the support required. Where appropriate and at the discretion of the TAFE Disability Consultant the meetings are held at the TAFE College which is offering the selected course.

  8. TAFE Disability Consultant+ School Support Teacher Transition Complete Record of Negotiated Additional Support for Students with a Disability in TVET 2015

  9. TAFE Disability Consultant sends the completed negotiated support forms to TAFE TVET Institute Consultant by 19th September 2014

  10. TAFE TVET Institute Consultant • Prepares database of disability student details • Files applications • Checks that Record of Negotiated Additional Support with a Disability in TVET 2015 and 2015 TVET application have been received for all students

  11. Regional Panel Meeting 10 October 2014 Reviews all applications for funding

  12. TAFE Disability Consultant + School Support Teacher Transition Check enrolment status of students in ‘TVET Online’ website prior to course commencement. Students confirmed commence class

  13. TVET Online Student Enrolment Statuses Confirmed– Expected to attend first class Pending Approval- Documents missing Pending Cull – High Demand- Not yet tested Standby- Awaiting available place to start class

  14. TAFE TVET Disability Consultant + TAFE Disability Coordinator Organise discrete orientation sessions for commencing students and their parents for TAFE Week 1, Term 1 2015. Students Sign release of Information

  15. TAFE Disability Consultant • Ensures students support is in place from the first week of • the TVET Course • Implements appropriate student progress reporting system • Sends exception report on student progress to Support Teacher Transition, if necessary.

  16. Late Applications Must follow the above process and can only proceed if available places and support funds are confirmed
