  • No ISM band between 860~960 MHz in Korea

    • 868~868.6MHz : Airport Communication Service

    • 902~928MHz : CT-1, CT-2, Safety Service, Pager

  • CT-2 service : returned frequency license

  • No problem using 2.4 GHz for IEEE 802.15.4 because it is ISM band

Analysis of Available Frequency Band Area Networks (WPANs)

  • Possible analysis scenarios

    • Scenario 1 : Reallocation of unused CT-2 frequency band

      • Total band : 908.5~914MHz

        • CT-21) band : 910~914MHz

        • Use adjacent guard band : 908.5~910MHz

    • Scenario 2 : Frequency sharing of Low Power Device

      • Sharing with Wireless Microphone band :

        • 928~930MHz and 950~952MHz

  • 908.5~914MHz band assignment of Korea

    • Plan to assign 908.5~914MHz to RFID in order to motivate RFID industries at the end of 2004

      1) CT-2 : Cordless Telephone (second generation). A type of "public" cordless telephone that is connected by TDMA radio links to nearby, microcell base stations. CT-2 is most often used as a wireless payphone. Receiving calls is not possible.

  • Research for interference analysis of sharing frequency band by Korean Home Network Study Group started from May 2004

    • Note : ETRI would like to acquire the document related with reviewing interference and sharing frequency in other countries
