  1. Project: IEEE P802.15 Working Group for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) Submission Title: Possible License Exempt Spectrum for 802.15.4g in China Date Submitted: [The date the document is contributed, in the format “21 May, 1999”] Source: [Ben Rolfe] Company [Blind Creek Associates] Address [] Phone: [+1.408.395.7207] E-Mil: [ben@blindcreek.com] [Qin Wang], Company [University of Science & Technology Beijing/ Shenyang Institute of Automation-Chinese Academy of Sciences] Address [30 Xueyuan Road, Beijing 100083, China] Phone: [+8610-62334781], FAX: [+8610-82372028 ], E-Mail: [wangqin@ies.ustb.edu.cn] Re: Request from TG4g for information on relevant regulations in China Abstract: Discussion of what bands may be available for SUN in China Purpose: Support TG4g Notice: This document has been prepared to assist the IEEE P802.15. 2. Possible License Exempt Spectrum for 802.15.4g in China B. Rolfe, Q. Wang

  3. General With reference to “General micro-power short range devices” tables [15-09-0207-00-004g] • Generally very low power (< 20mW) • Most low freq. channels do lot allow the BW for 40kbps • Tables don’t show “everything allowed” • Shows what has been allowed and used • “ask and they’ll tell you” • May be positive response to TG4g B. Rolfe, Q. Wang

  4. Some bands to look at • 75 MHz, 84-108MHz, 189.9-223MHz • 10mW, < 200KHz BW channels • Wireless microphones? • 314-316 MHz • 10mW, < 400KHz BW • 430-434 (2 bands) • 10mW < 400KHz BW • 630-787MHz • 50mW, < 200KHz BW • 779-787 (802.15.4c) • 10mW (15.4c Annex J: PSD -20dBm/20dB PAR) B. Rolfe, Q. Wang

  5. Future • ‘Informally’ interest in SUN and SG technology • Informal information: Chinese government may consider to open spectrum if necessary and possible • When TG4G figures out which spectrum we wish to use and how, more formal discussions are possible B. Rolfe, Q. Wang

  6. Thank You B. Rolfe, Q. Wang
