  19. Registration • Registration covers 14 attendees • These can be whoever you want them to be • You pay for any additional items • Late fees will be applied • Checks postmarked on/before the deadline will not be penalized • Everything you need to do is listed in the registration checklists

  32. What is Slack? A workplace communications platform A new way for Empire to communicate with teams before and during competitions Installable on your phone, tablet, laptop

  33. What can you use Slack for? Sending messages and files to other coaches Crowd-source answers to case and competition logistics questions with other coaches Arrange scrimmages Receive pairings and draws on competition weekend

  34. What’s the deal with Slack?

  35. Why Slack? To improve yourexperience! Make Empire-team and team-team communication faster Provide you with more complete, crowd-sourced answers Connect teams with the Empire family sooner rather than later (eg scrimmage, strategy) Competition weekend information (more on that later) It’s easier for us

  37. Some key terms you’ll need to know “Workspace” The Empire Coaches domain A way for you to compartmentalize multiple workspaces (if you use Slack for things other than Empire)

  38. Some key terms you’ll need to know “Channel” A group message that anyone in the empiremocktrial.org workplace can view Channel name indicates its purpose (eg find a scrimmage, case queries, strategy, rules)

  39. Downloading Slack Download the Slack app Search for “Slack” on the App Store or Google Play Installable on your desktop. Visit slack.com and follow the instructions

  40. Joining the Empire Coaches workspace Look for this email in your inbox (Check spam and junk folders) Click “Join Now” button Note: this will be sent to whichever coach email is first listed in each team registration

  41. Setting up your Slack Profile Enter your full name Choose a password (write it down somewhere!) Click “Create account”

  42. Adding other people on Slack You can invite another coach / captain (just enter their email address Or, click “Skip for Now” to proceed

  43. Learning about Slack View the Slack tutorial by clicking “Explore Slack” Or, click “Skip the tutorial” to proceed

  44. Getting started on slack You can now start sending and receiving messages on Slack

  45. Customizing your profile Click on your name to set up your profile

  48. Customizing your profile Make sure your name (and “Display name”) is accurate Under “What I do”: state which team you coach and where you are competing in 2019
