  2. Purpose • To ensure that every student graduates from high school well prepared for college and a career with a certificate that verifies that an individual has the skills necessary to be successful entering employment or a training program.

  3. Certification Models/Programs • ACT Key Train, WorkKeys • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)

  4. ACT National Career Readiness Certificates

  5. Pros Credential attainment proven value in vocational context Measuring of soft skills Improve quality of hires

  6. Cons Challenges to getting buy-in, need to customize curriculum, no evidence that credentials/certificates are meaningful to employers,employers don’t use as a consideration in hiring
