FAFSA • FAFSA: Free Application Federal Student Aid • Apply at FAFSA.ed.gov • *Available NOW for 2016-2017 FAFSA (Spring 2017 and Summer 2017) • *Also, apply for 2017-2018 FAFSA (Fall 2018) • *School Code: 001989 • *Must renew FAFSA every year. Application is available Oct 1st. • *Filing FAFSA = Offered Loans

  4. LOANS • 1. UNSUBSIDIZED LOAN • *Graduate Students are eligible for $20,500 Unsubsidized Loan for the academic year (Fall/Spring/Summer). • *Unsub Loan: Accrues interest while in school • *Current Rate 5.31% • 2. GRADUATE PLUS LOAN • *Student can apply for Graduate Plus Loan at studentloans.gov if the $20,500 has been exhausted for the year. • *Current Rate 6.31% • *Requires Credit Check • *Student can request specific amount or maximum amount (up to budget). • Note: Student does not have to make payments on loans until 6 months after graduation.

TO Do for Loans • Fill Out Spring Request Form • Once receive email, accept loan on MyUK • MyUK > Financials > Financial Aid > View and Accept Awards • 3.Complete Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling at studentloans.gov • 4. Sign up for Direct Deposit on MyUK under MyInfo • (5. Apply for Graduate Plus Loan at studentloans.gov and complete additional Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling).

  6. BILLING • Spring Semester: • Bill sent to email on January 1st, bill is due January 22nd. • *Loans automatically pay towards bill once Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note are on file. • *View bill on MyUK under: • Financials > Account Services> Web Payment Services • “Payment: ACH to student” = Money sent to bank account

  7. Direct Deposit • *Students can borrow loans for living expenses. • *After loans pay entire bill, leftover funds are sent to bank account • *Refunds sent through Direct Deposit • *Sign up for Direct Deposit on MyUKunder MyInfo
