  1. Delighting in the Trinity Why the Trinity is good news

  2. The Trinity is a mystery it is also good news.

  3. First a look at the Old Testament

  4. John’s gospel, (chapter 20: 28) • Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

  5. Exodus 2:23 – 3:15

  6. GOD IS A GOD WHO REVEALS HIMSELF. 3:4God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”

  7. GOD IS TRANSCENDENT. Transcendence is defined as the aspect of God’s nature and power that is totally independent of the material universe, beyond all known physical laws.

  8. GOD IS TRANSCENDENT. God alone is the Creator, and all else falls under the category of ‘created’ that must not be worshipped.

  9. GOD IS HOLY 5 ‘Do not come any closer,’ God said. ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.’ Ex 33:20 No one can see me and live

  10. GOD IS INVOLVED. ‘I am the God of your father,theGod of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.’

  11. GOD IS A GOD WHO RESCUES (A COVENANT GOD) ‘I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8So I have come down to rescue them.

  12. GOD IS A GOD WHO EXPECTS us to BE INVOLVED. I am sending you

  13. 14 God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: “I am has sent me to you.”’

  14. 4 Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one.

  15. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

  16. Father? 29 Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. 30 The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, 31 and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.’

  17. Ephesians 4 there is 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

  18. Finally • GOD IS A GOD WHO REVEALS HIMSELF. • GOD IS TRANSCENDENT • GOD IS HOLY. • GOD IS INVOLVED. • GOD IS A GOD WHO RESCUES (A COVENANT GOD). • GOD IS A GOD WHO EXPECTS us to BE INVOLVED.
