Good practice No.1 • Title: Intercambios 4 x 4 (4 x 4 interchanges) • Kind of training: Non-formal • General description: • This activity consist in a language interchange, bringing out together a group of 4 people native speaker in a language and 4 people native speakers in other language. Each participant will have 4 minutes to talk with the participant in front of him in one of the languages. After this 4 minutes they must change the language and continuing talking during 4 minutes more. Good practice No.2 • Title: Mercadillo Internacional Solidario (CharityGarage Sale) • Kind of training: Non-formal • General description: • This activity consist in organising a CharityGarage Sale. The sellers at the stands are different language teachers. Good practice • Other examples of good practices in non- formal learning • Film Workshops (Approximate duration 2.15): Films are screened in Spanish in these workshops and the teacher-tutor stops the film at different intervals to comment on interesting aspects and peculiarities of the language. • Writing Workshops (Approximate duration 1.30): Different written expression activities are carried out in these workshops under the supervision of a teacher-tutor. Activities include: poetry writing, essays, letters, descriptions, etc. • Listening to Music in Spanish (Approximate duration 1.30): Different Spanish songs are heard in these workshops and a teacher-tutor provides exercises based on them. • Visits to the city’s museums or exhibitions: • Excursions: Excursions to different places of interest in the province are organised as well as to other cities of interest. • - “Tapas Trip”: A “tapas” trip around the typical bars in the city centre is organised with a teacher-tutor. • - Conversation partner: This activity consists of arranging for a Spanish student, preferably a philology student, to come to speak to the group in Spanish once a week. Good practice No.3 • Title: In Vivo- Christian UniversityAssociation • Kind of training: Non-formal • General description: • In Vivo is an american organisation that have establish a meeting center for stutents in Salamanca (Spain). They organise some regular activities during the academic year: • Tertulia Remix (Remix Gathering) – every tuesday at 14h • This activity consist in the organisation of a homemade lunch and after the lunch different activities and plays in English are performed. • - Café inglés (English Coffee) – every Wednesday at 19h • This activity consist in a film projection. Good practice No.3 • - En vivo (In Life) - Every two Tuesday at 21h. • Thisactivityconsist in theorganisation of a dinnerbasedon “tapas”.Afterthedinnersomeactivitiesanplays are organisedforthestudents. • - Publication of a weekly on-line magazine El Eco, with news and activities offer for the week witch is sent by e-mail each Monday to the interested students. • Objective: • - The practice of English conversation with native speakers. • - The meeting with new people. Good practice No.4 & 5 ACCEM is an NGO that develops programmes and projects that respond to the need to provide counselling, reception, training and social and occupational integration to refugees and immigrants. Main features: • Immigrants and refugees must begin integrating and adapting themselves to their new social environment from the start. • The majority of these people are young persons from non-Spanish-speaking countries whose integration depends first and foremost on their learning Spanish. • Language learning in the classroom must run parallel to the process of learning in non-formal and informal contexts. • ACCEM not only provides language learning in a formal context (i.e., Spanish classes) but also fosters the non-formal and informal learning of the language through its different programmes and actions. Good practice No.4 • Title: Discover your City • Kind of training: Non-formal and Informal • General description: • This programme is intended to act as a support service to basic social services, • using scheduled visits by certified social workers and volunteers to inform, advise and accompany anyone who • registers with the statistical office of the Valladolid City Council • on social, health, educational, cultural and recreational resources, thereby making their integration into the society easier and quicker. • Objective: - To promote the full integration of immigrants in their host society. - To learn Spanish in everyday life context. Good practice No.5 • Title: Humanitarian Assistance to Immigrants Programme • Kind of training: Non-formal and Informal • General description: • This programme is directed towards the immigrant population in a situation of vulnerability. • Agreements between the local authorities and the Government on the reception of immigrants arriving in Spain through Ceuta, Melilla, the Canary Islands and the coasts of Andalusia, to deal with the overflow at the Internment Centres for Foreigners. • Part of this programme is specifically for the Reception of Young Immigrants, a resource designed for young people 18 years old and above who often do not have a social support network or the resources or skills to make it on their own. Good practice No.5 • This programme works with them for a period of 15 days, during which they are given basic guidelines on integration into Spanish society, beginning with the language. • They are taught about social and administrative resources, and also some basic skills like shopping in a supermarket, for which Non-Formal language learning is an essential resource. • Objective: - To promote the full integration of immigrants in their host society. - To learn Spanish in everyday life context.   20. Good practice No.4 & 5 • Remarks: “Discover your city” and “Humanitarian Assistance to Immigrants Programme”fosters the various facets of individual autonomy, starting, again, with language.
