  2. When to use: • Sentences like present subjunctive where verb 1 is in the past tense: • Yoquieroquetúvayas. • Yoqueríaquetúfueras. • If statements… after the word “si” the verb is in the past subjunctive: • Yoiría a Prom siyotuviera un novio.

  3. Common Conjugation: • Start with the ellos form of the verb in the preterite tense. • Drop the ron. • Add the cheerleader/Lady Gaga endings: • ra -´ramos • ras -rais • ra-ran

  4. Older Conjugation: • Start with the ellos form of the verb in the preterite tense. • Drop the ron. • Add the snake endings: • se -´semos • ses -seis • se-sen

  5. Good news! • There are no irregulars! All verbs follow those conjugation steps! • But that means we have to remember the preteriteellos form, which may have been irregular. • Murieron, durmieron, pidieron, prefirieron, etc. • Pusieron, pudieron, tuvieron, estuvieron, supieron, anduvieron • Quisieron, vinieron, hicieron • Dijeron, Trajeron • Fueron, dieron, vieron • Leyeron, cayeron, destruyeron, etc.

  23. THE FORMULA LOOKS LIKE THIS: SI + SUBJ + PAST SUBJ VERB,SUBJ + COND VERB (if) (someone) (did…), (someone) (would do…) You do not necessarily need a SUBJECT CHANGE

  24. Past Subjunctive Conjugation • Start with the ellos form of the verb in the preterite tense. • Drop the ron. • Add the cheerleader/Lady Gaga endings: • ra -´ramos • ras -rais • ra-ran

  25. Conditional Conjugation • Start with the infinitive verb. • Check for irregulars. • Add these endings: • ía -íamos • ías -íais • ía-ían
