  1. Insight From Modern Love

  2. Modern Love is a web series on @AmazonPrime which has about 8 episodes that capture unconventional stories on love.Every challenge in a story is conquered by the idea of love. Whether its a protagonist with a rough past, a mental illness like bipolar, or an LGBT couple- everyone is capable of finding, keeping and being the love they seek.

  3. I would like to talk about an episode titled: When the doorman is your main man. The protagonist Maggie Mitchell is a single woman with a PhD, living in New York on a journey to find the right man for herself. Guzmin- her doorman, doesn’t shy upon giving his expert opinions on the guy she dates and he is almost right all the time. We see that Guzmin has not approved of any man she has dated so far. The mystery is- how does Guzmin get to know? How is it that everytime he is absolutely right about his judgment and Maggie ends up breaking up with the guy?

  4. So, Maggie ends up trying her best to make every man stay. She compromises on her needs and starts wondering if she could ever find love? What if nobody wanted to stay with her or be in love with her? What if something was wrong with her? Now, this is something we all can relate to.After a certain turn of events Maggie focuses on her life, she focuses on herself and eventually moves to a different country on getting a great job offer.

  5. Maggie comes back to the city with her partner she found in LA. Now it’s fun to watch the pressure she has on herself that this guy passes the Guzmin-test.To her surprise he does. What was different about this guy? How did he gauge? Well, it was never about the guy. You see, Guzmin was never looking at the guys Maggie dated, he always looked at Maggie’s eyes, about how she felt around them, how she was treated, how comfortable did they make her feel around them.

  6. Don't we forget that at times? Love becomes the goal, instead of a process. It becomes more about the partner and less about ourselves. We focus on seeking validation but neglect our needs. We invalidate our feelings and prioritize others’ needs over ours, forgetting the most important thing: One can only give you as much love as you give to yourself.
