The Situation 90% of Malawians are subsistence farmers80-90% of their diet is MaizeBecause of the lack of nutritional value in a single food item the nation suffers from continual malnutrition, sickness and disease. The Build a Village project aims to teach farmers how to grow a wider range of nutritious food crops to support their families and be able to trade.

  3. The Build a Village Project has 2 goals: - Build an actual village in Malawi - Make this village a ”living classroom” Model: Rotate 200 farming families through an intensive two year agricultural training programme which they carry back to their own villages - eventually feeding a nation.

  4. Agricultural Training Students will receive tuition in:a. Fish Farmingb. Drip Irrigationc. Sustainable Farmingd. Forest Conservation and Tree Farminge. Animal Husbandryf. Soil Conservationg. Water Conservationh. Nursery Managementi. Modern Techniques in Fertiliser Controlj. Modern Techniques in Use of Manure for Fertiliser

  5. Phase I: Already complete.The Nu SkinForce For Good Foundation funded an earthen dam which has now been expanded to create a lake, 1½ kilometers long.

  6. Phase I: 150 acres now under cultivation- 2,000 fruit trees planted- 134,000 plants in a nursery- Reforestation underway- Project approved and supported by the Malawi government.

  7. Phase II: Duplex housing units:Starting with 25, eventually 100Facilities:- Administration building- Two-classroom block- Warehouse with necessary supplies- Fences for animals - Four fish ponds- Fertiliser, seed, fuel- Two tractors
