  3. Green House Gasses • Not ‘living’ by farmers ! • Its invisible and for discussion!? • What are consequences of “Copenhagen” ? • Who can give me the right definition of GHG? • What is measured • Different studies, different results • Dairy (- sector) 2 - 4% of all GHG?(FAO – 3 % IFCN - 2%)

  4. Our Problem LCA per litre of milk is more then 1kg GHG

  5. Reduction GHG on farm level: • Housing systems. • Feed measures. • Co-operating with arable farmers. • Handling manure. (see next slides) • Replacing artificial fertilizers.- Saves to >50 % N and P - 1 kg N = 15 m3 natural gas

  6. Dairy’s best option ? • Anaerobic Digesters • Reduce GHG in NA by 0.5 to 1% • AD cut our dairy emissions by 50% (along with other management practices) • Create millions kW renewable energy
