Scholar Schedule 8-day, 8-Period Rotation w/drop • Period 1 English • Period 2 English • Period 3 Math • Period 4 Math • Period 5 Study Hall (Prelude Orchestra) • Period 6 Workplace Learning • Period 7 Elective • Period 8 Web Development & Design (APEX Study Hall) Every student has a 30-minute lunch period scheduled between 10:53 – 12:39.

Extended Day • Starts Tuesday, September 9 • Tuesday – Thursday, 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. • Two assigned teachers: Ms. Kober (101E) and Mrs. Rorick (100E) • Transportation provided (bus tokens for the wheels bus) • APEX online learning (remediation/acceleration) • Homework assistance • Attendance taken at every session (sign in/out)

APEX LearningRalph Valenzisi, Chief of Technology, Innovation and Partnerships • Standards-based curriculum engages students in rigorous coursework to prepare them for college and work • Subject areas: math, science, English, social studies, world languages, and electives • Used for credit, remediation, intervention, and acceleration • Students move at their own pace, taking as much or as little time as needed to master the material • Multimedia instruction motivates and engages students and addresses different learning styles

Laptop Program and Usage Agreement • Lenova 11e laptop computerissued to the scholar by NECA • The laptop is made available for purposes of advancing the scholar’s education • The laptop is school property and is intended only for approved educational uses • Scholars must have their laptops with them for use during NECA classes and the NCC Web Development and Design course • Scholars may transport the laptop to and from home, public libraries, and meetings of school study groups; scholars are allowed to leave their laptop in school • Scholars are required to sign the laptop agreement if he/she wishes to remove the laptop from campus
