IAT implementation plan 2009 National Coordinating Centre for Research Capacity Development www.nccrcd.nhs.uk • NIHR ACFs 25% research training, 3 years (4 GPs) • NIHR CLs 50% post-doctoral research, 4 years, matched posts • Locally funded ACFs • Each medical school allocated posts to be managed in partnership with deanery and trust(s) • 200/250 ACFs and 80/100 CLs allocated by formula based on major NIHR funding (BRCs, BRUs, CLAHRCs etc) • Minimum 2 ACFs per medical school • In 2009 & 2010 transition to respect previous allocations • In 2011 balancing figure available for additional training places
