  3. WebPLC WebPLC is a comprehensive reporting facility that provides for monitoring the product life cycle(POSH – Production, Orders, Shipments, on Hand inventory) over specified periods. It also offers comparison between specified periods, drill down to detail in specified reports and flexible graphical representation of results.

  4. The cube is generated from the work order, orders/trips and inventory databases. The relevant time periods are based upon the corporate fiscal calendar with units of days, fiscal weeks, fiscal months and fiscal years. Reports may also be generated by calendar periods specified in ranges of dates. Browser based, the facility offers a variety of report formats that may be generated for specified time periods. Additional record selection is based on various SKU criteria including defined product groupings. Left Click to Continue

  5. Text reports provide for easy numeric comparison of chosen periods and drill down to work order, order, shipment, trip and inventory detail. Custom graphs offer scales that are automatically adjusted to best represent the data being presented. An export facility allows utilization with other desktop facilities or interface with corporate systems. Left Click to Continue

  6. WebPLC Demonstration Menu Type ”3” <Enter> To Restart WebPLC Overview Type “7” <Enter> To Start Sample WebPLC Session “ESC” To Exit Left Click to Continue

  7. WISL WebPLC Sample Session The following slides constitute a sample WebPLC inquiry session. Left Click to Continue

  8. WebPLC Demonstration The Category may be specified as either Fiscal or Calendar. Fiscal reports are specified in ranges of fiscal weeks that are specified in the fiscal calendar file. Calendar reports are specified in ranges of specified calendar dates. We have selected “Fiscal” to illustrate the range specification Left Click to Continue

  9. WebPLC Demonstration We have selected week 19 to week 22 of 2007 as the range for the Primary Table and the system automatically places the same range in the Comparison Table. Left Click to Continue

  10. WebPLC Demonstration We have selected week 19 to week 22 2006 as the range for the Comparison Table in order to allow for a comparison between the same 4 week fiscal period in two consecutive years. Left Click to Continue

  11. WebPLC Demonstration The Report Type specification offers detailed displays by SKU or Product Line and also summary reports by time period; day, week or month. Left Click to Continue

  12. WebPLC Demonstration The report medium may be specified as numeric or graph. Left Click to Continue

  13. WebPLC Demonstration After specifying the “Report Type”, the “Medium” and the date ranges, the report may be initiated by depressing the “Execute” button. Left Click to Continue

  14. WebPLC Demonstration The left most column displays the “Report Type” attribute followed by columns that display totals for “Planned”, “Produced”, Ordered”, “Shipped” and “On Hand” quantities during the selected period. The comparison table displays the same information for the corresponding “Report Type” attribute for the comparison period. Using the scroll bar to the right of the SKU/Product Line totals allows navigation through the report detail while the heading remains static at the top of the page. Left Click to Continue

  15. WebPLC Demonstration The report is displayed initially sorted in the ascending order of the left most column but may be re-sorted in the ascending order of any of the columns by clicking on the heading. Clicking on the same column a second time will sort in descending order of that column. In this example we have sorted in ascending order of the “Ordered” column in the “Primary Table”. The corresponding attributes in the other table remain on the same line. Left Click to Continue

  16. WebPLC Demonstration Placing the cursor over any number in the report will display the percentage and absolute difference between it and the corresponding number in the other table. In this example 2.52%(75.5 units) more of the RHY4Z product line was ordered during the “Primary” period than the “Comparison” period. Left Click to Continue

  17. WebPLC Demonstration Drill down to more detailed information is available by clicking on any number in the report. Initially a list of the electronic documents is produced that includes the SKU/product line selected. In this case we clicked on the total for product line RHY4Z in the “Produced” column. Clicking on a specific “Work Order No” in the list initiates a display of the detail for that work order. In this example we click on work order 32508. Left Click to Continue

  18. WebPLC Demonstration This detail information on a Work Order is also available for drill down in the same manner from “Planned” column totals for specific SKU/product lines. Left Click to Continue

  19. WebPLC Demonstration Drilling down from a SKU/Product Line total in the “Ordered” column presents a list of orders in the period that include the selected SKU/Product Line. Clicking on a specific “Order No” in the list presents the detail of that order. Left Click to Continue

  20. WebPLC Demonstration All available order data is presented including the other SKUs. Left Click to Continue

  21. WebPLC Demonstration Drilling down from a SKU/Product Line total in the “Shipped” column presents a list of shipments in the period that include the selected SKU/Product Line. Clicking on a specific “Bill of Lading” in the list presents the detail of that shipment. Left Click to Continue

  22. WebPLC Demonstration All available shipment data is presented including the detail of other items. Left Click to Continue

  23. WebPLC Demonstration Drilling down from a SKU/Product Line total in the “On Hand” column presents a list of warehouses that include the selected SKU/Product Line in inventory during the selected period. Left Click to Continue

  24. WebPLC Demonstration The format of the display for the “Day”, “Week” and “Month” reports is identical to that for SKU/Product Line. These reports include the totals of all SKUs planned, produced, ordered, shipped or on hand during the specified period. Drilling down on the “Day”(or “Week” or “Month” will generate a list of all SKU’s for which there was any activity during the period.. Left Click to Continue

  25. WebPLC Demonstration Note that only SKU’s for which operational activity(planning, production, ordering or shipping) occurred during the selected period(day) are included in the list. Left Click to Continue

  26. WebPLC Demonstration The “Product Search Engine provides for selecting specific SKUs or Product Lines by specifying any string that occurs in the SKU or Product Line ID or in the SKU description. The search is initiated by clicking the “Lkup” button. In this example we have specified “rip” as the search string. Left Click to Continue

  27. WebPLC Demonstration Individual sku’s may be specified by clicking the corresponding check box or all sku’s in a product line may be specified by selecting the desired product line(s). . Left Click to Continue

  28. WebPLC Demonstration If the “graph” report medium is selected, upon depressing the execute button the corresponding numeric report is generated for reference and the graph specification page is displayed. As the first example we are using the same record selection as for the numeric “Product Line” report example above. Left Click to Continue

  29. WebPLC Demonstration Graphs can greatly enhance information by allowing us to more readily gain an overview or perceive trends in data. To make optimum use of the capabilities of graphical presentation the raw numeric data must be effectively organized to minimize noise and enhance the imaging. Tools are available on this page to achieve these goals. By changing various settings on this page the graph may be generated many times without having to re-execute the report Left Click to Continue

  30. WebPLC Demonstration A default title is displayed which may be modified if desired. Left Click to Continue

  31. WebPLC Demonstration One of three different graph types may be specified. Left Click to Continue

  32. WebPLC Demonstration The background color for the graph may be specified. The graph legend may be disabled(the default is to display the legend). Left Click to Continue

  33. WebPLC Demonstration The table specification indicates which data tables are to be included in the graph. With “Primary vs Comparison” both tables will be represented graphically side by side to be readily compared Left Click to Continue

  34. WebPLC Demonstration The “Controlling column specification indicates which major column of data will be compared between the Primary and Comparison tables. Left Click to Continue

  35. WebPLC Demonstration If the “Primary” or the “Comparison” Table are specified then in addition to the “Controlling” column, two additional columns may be specified which allow for multiple variables to be graphed together for the same table. Left Click to Continue

  36. WebPLC Demonstration Often with graphed data it is desirable to deal with a subset of the numeric data to achieve which may often be expressed as either “Most” or “Least” significant, leaving the remaining data in the “Other Category”. Left Click to Continue

  37. WebPLC Demonstration To identify the “Significant” values to be graphed the specification may be done as a percentage of the total number of values in the Controlling Column or an absolute number. In this example we are specifying the 20 most significant values in the Controlling column to be displayed in the graph with the rest included in the “Other Category” Left Click to Continue

  38. WebPLC Demonstration We may also specify whether the “Other Category” is to be included in the graph. Left Click to Continue

  39. WebPLC Demonstration Using the Product Line example we will illustrate the graphical results with specification of various “Graph Builder” parameters.. Left Click to Continue

  40. WebPLC Demonstration In this example we specify a “Bar” Graph Type with “Ordered” as the Controlling Column. We are not providing “Other Category” specifications. Left Click to Continue

  41. WebPLC Demonstration There are too many “Product Line” categories on the “Y” axis to offer a meaningful result. Left Click to Continue

  42. WebPLC Demonstration In this example we specify that we only wish to graph the 20 most numerically significant Product Lines. Left Click to Continue

  43. WebPLC Demonstration Excluding the other category allows the range to display between the top and bottom values of the 20 most significant product lines ordered during the period. Left Click to Continue

  44. WebPLC Demonstration By depressing the “Other Info” button a display is offered where the less numerically significant Product Line categories(Other) may be browsed. Left Click to Continue

  45. WebPLC Demonstration The same specification for a Report Type “By Day” generates the numeric display below then presents the WISL Graph Builder specification page. Left Click to Continue

  46. WebPLC Demonstration “Line” is selected as the Graph Type with a “Yellow” background and “Shipped” as the Controlling Column. Left Click to Continue

  47. WebPLC Demonstration The graph illustrates remarkably similar experience for the periods in the 2 successive years with slightly higher values for 2007. Left Click to Continue

  48. WebPLC Demonstration This example employs a bar graph to display the production and order activity together with the shipping for the “Primary Table”. Left Click to Continue

  49. WebPLC Demonstration Someone close to the operation would undoubtedly gain some interesting insights from this visual representation of the data. Left Click to Continue

  50. WebPLC Demonstration An export may be generated for any table that is displayed by clicking the “Export” button and supplying the name of the export file. Left Click to Continue
