  1. Rugby 8th grade Project By lane Austin

  2. September • In September I started fall rugby season • I was out of shape and hadn’t practiced or played rugby in months • I worked on running more and getting open/catching the ball

  3. October • This month I worked my tackling because I was tackling high, and that’s not as effective as tackling low in rugby. • I also had a few games and worked on my scoring.

  4. November • I had a couple more rugby games • I worked more on tackling more and better • I ran more to get my cardio in good shape

  5. December • Rugby season ends. I had no practice in rugby during December • I focused on staying in the shape I was and also improving it • I ran more because I wasn’t getting the regular workout from rugby practice

  6. January • I started high school season near the end of the month • High school season is 15s rugby instead of 7s • I worked on keeping up

  7. February • I continued in High school 15s rugby • I learn new techniques and positions for 15s rugby. • I also practice my tackling and running

  8. March • I work on my speed and agility • High school season ends in mid-March • Keep running and working out

  9. April • Spring/Fall rugby 7s season starts • I am better than before • I practice on conditioning and getting in better shape for our first game in May (17th) rather than tackling

  10. My Goal • My Goal was to improve on rugby • I wanted to be better at running • I needed to be a better tackler • Improve in gameplay • I wanted to be in better shape

  11. Have I met my goal?

  12. Yes, I have met my goal.

  13. I am better at running • I am faster • I can run for longer distances at a time

  14. I am now a better tackler • I tackle the better • I tackle more

  15. I have improved on my gameplay • I am better at strategy • It’s easier to catch the ball • I know where to go, how to get there, and what I do once I get there.

  16. I am in better shape • I am stronger • I am faster and more agile • I have better endurance

  17. Growth over the year in tackling

  18. Difficulties and Obstacles • Missing practices • Gaps between rugby seasons • Staying in shape between seasons • High school season and 15s rugby (January) • Conditioning
