Ways to nurture your child’s hidden talent Pay Attention • Pay attention to your kid when they are playing. Identify which activity gravitates your child, what play your child loves? Whether they like to run or sit in a calm place? Which musical instruments do they first go to play? Kindly pay attention to your kid and understand their interests, that can be developed into talent. Stimulate Expressions • When your child is back home, discover what your child is doing? For example, if he/she likes to draw, then and give them necessary resources like drawing book, paper, paints, colour pencil, sketch etc. that will encourage them to explore more and improvise their talent in certain activities.
Applaud Efforts • Effort means giving huge hard work to achieve a particular goal. As parents, you have to encourage the efforts put by your child at a specific task. You have to compliment your child in their step-by-step efforts, so that they become more flexible to face challenges, make mistakes and learn a lesson from them. Create opportunities to enhance your kid’s talent • As a parents, you can create a chance or organize an activity on a topic that interests and nurtures your child’s talent. You can also engage your child into recreational activities based on his/her interests or else join them in coaching class of their interest. For example, if your child has a passion for cricket, then enrol him/her into the cricket team at school or sports centre that is available near to your location.
Don’t be selfish • Don’t involve your child in the activities that interest you, because he/she may not have an interest in that activity. Always prefer to go for a choice that your kids have passion for. Then only your child could able to shine in that area or else he/she may hate that activity that will create hatred, lead to failure and causes depression. A small suggestion for parents don’t compare your kid with other kid, it will lead your kid to lose their self-confidence and make them feel down. Set your kids free • The important step to identify your kid’s talent is to set them free. Besides this, don’t put pressure on your kids and don’t engage them into multiple tasks, as it creates a stressful life for them. First set them free and leave them to explore, this will help your child to discover what he/she loves and thus help them choose the activity that matters most to him/her.
