Elective .5 credit • English: 4 credits • Note: TV Productions, Commentator & Multimedia Communication may not count toward the 4 credits required for college admission requirements

  3. High School Graduation College Entrance Requirements -page 3 -page 9 • Social Studies 3.5 credits • World History A/B 1 credit • US History 214/216 1 credit • Gov., AP Gov. or Pol. Sci. .5 credit • Economics .5 credit • Soc. Studies Elective .5 credit • Science 2.5 credits • Exp Physical Science 1 credit • Biology 1 credit • Earth Science .5 credit • Social Studies 3 credits • Science 3 credits • Biology • Chemistry • One higher (usually Physics) • Note: Sequence of Exploring Physical Science, Biology and one higher are often accepted

High School Graduation College Entrance Requirements -page 3 -page 9 Math 2 credits Phy Ed 1.5 credits Health .5 credit Computer Apps .5 credit Other: 10 credits • Math 3 credits • Algebra • Geometry • Algebra II • Foreign Language –it depends (2 years of same) • Other: 4 additional credits from academic core areas or possibly elective areas (depending on the college).

Other Admission Requirements • Vary by college • In addition to college-prep coursework • Class rank AND minimum ACT/SAT score • Class rank OR minimum ACT/SAT score • If you are missing one or more requirements • UW-Two year campuses (Guaranteed Transfer Program) • CVTC (Liberal Arts Transfer Program)

  6. Remember… College admission requirements are a MINIMUM! You want to be prepared for college-level work so you should be taking college-prep coursework through your senior year. Competitive universities will pay close attention to the coursework you have taken and may deny a student that they feel is ill-prepared.

How to Apply • Easiest to apply on-line. • UW-System schools • https://apply.wisconsin.edu/ • Other schools – • Google their website or find links from Student Services website • Look for “apply now” or “admissions” • Application deadlines vary. Some as early as December 1 • Good rule of thumb is to have all applications submitted by mid-November

Be prepared to provide... • UW Application is more complicated than others • Demographic information • Social Security Number • High school courses in progress • Employment and activities in order of importance • Essay Questions • Briefly explain why you put activities in that order • How will your presence enrich our community (or similar) • Have English teacher look over your essay before submitting • Advanced Comp/AP Eng. Lit • Credit card number for application fee

Other Application Materials • Transcript Request • An “official” transcript is sent by Chi-Hi Student Services • Make request through Naviance Family Connections • Link from Student Services Website • Username should be school email. Log-in should be school log-in (unless you chose to use something else). • Colleges will want a final high school transcript. It is your responsibility to request this. • ACT or SAT score • An “official” ACT/SAT score is sent directly from testing agency.

College Tours & Reps • Be sure you tour the campus before deciding • Most colleges have online tour registration • Representatives visit Chi-Hi • College and military reps already scheduled • Sign up through Naviance Family Connection • Wisconsin Educational Fair – UW-Eau Claire • Tuesday, October 8: 6:30-8:30 pm • Wednesday, October 9:00-11:00 am • More information: http://www.wefs.org/
