  2. East Area • The construction of the Irradiation zones is progressing. However, there is a delay with the order of the control rooms due to the receivership of the UK firm. The order is now with another company. This will have an impact on the schedule for the IRRAD facilities, which is being evaluated (at least 4 weeks). The updated overall planning is available at http://indico.cern.ch/event/310239/contribution/5/material/slides/2.pdfThe design of a ‘charpente’ isonthecritical path, too. • The order for fixed shielding blocks has been sent to FP.The smaller order is very urgent and must be followed closely. 6. The RP simulations have been completed, including the ventilation ducts. The detailed passage of these ducts has now also been agreed and optimisedwith respect to mechanical interferences. See next slide. • The tightness of the wall will be attempted with SIKA 11 FC plaster (baseline) or, ifnecessary, with special tape. A test will be done in a small mock-up in the coming weeks. • The commissioning of the new facility will start without ventilation at low flux, as decided long time ago. Simulations show that it is possible to commission thefacility at reduced flux (compared to the maximum possible). RP will issue a memo. • A barrack for the CHARM team has been installed outside on the Jura side. It will beproperly completed and equipped this week. Experimental Area Status

  9. The work on the T9, T10 and T11 beams is on track for a timely start-up. The two broken magnets in the proton beam have been repaired. The two beam stoppers in the primary line could not be replaced but have been refurbished. The magnet patrol will take place on April 22 and 23. A total of 455 teams from 60 countries had announced to submit a proposal for the Beamline4Schools competition. By the end of the deadline (end March) 296proposals were received. A pre-selection is being made and the final selection will involve the SPSC. The exact dates of the experiment will be defined in agreement with the winning team. This will impact slightly on the T9 schedule. Experimental Area Status
