  2. Description • PATENTis a reactive initiative that will attempt to realise the vision of providing innovators whether they be members of small companies, universities or multinationals a “predictable” route from M&NT based product concept to product. • This will be achieved by realizing in the medium to long-term a new concurrent engineering or Design for Micro manufacture Methodology (Dam) for M&NT(micro- and nanotechnologies) based products that provides designers with the means to design performance, testability, robustness and dependability competitively, whatever the operating environment

  3. Core Partners • University of Lancaster, UK • IMEC, Belgium • Universitat Bremen, Germany • Universite Paris-sud, France • 4M2C Patric Salomon, Germany • IMT-Bucharest, Romania • NMRC Cork, Ireland • LIRMM Montpellier, France • ISLI Scotland, UK

  4. Other scientific partners • IZM Berlin, Germany • LAAS Paul Saba tier University, France • BUTE Budapest, Hungary • Politecnico di Milano, Italy • Warsaw University of Technology, Poland • THALES, Paris • QinetiQ Sensors and Electronics, UK • Heriot Watt University Edinburg, UK • KU Leuven, Belgium • IZM Munich, Germany • Fraunhofer ISM Dresden, Germany • CCLRR Daresbury, UK

  6. CENTRE FOR COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN AND SIMULATION PARTICIPATION IN WP 2: • Available Software in IMT-Bucharest in order to form a basic “common simulation platform”: COVENTORWARE 2003.1 software packages (at the latest level reached in the world); • ANSYS 5.4; • IE3D (vers.7, with FIDELITY); • OptiFDTD-CAD - time-domain simulation software. Simulation, analysis, modeling and design of various microstructures and microsystems, ranging mechanical, thermal, microfluidics, electrical, three-dimensional electromagnetic simulation, advanced optical simulation and coupled field simulations.

  7. Network development • Inter Site Infrastructure: IMT-Bucharest can provide access to its design/simulation facilities, offering visits, assistance/consultancy and training. Also, IMT-Bucharest may participate at information dissemination offering WEB design capabilities. • Virtual Institute Development • Databases • Virtual laboratory
