  4. Intervening in the Patterns • By altering the behavior patterns, the “symptom” will be altered • Intervening in a pattern means to replace one of its elements by another one that falls out of the usual limits; by adding or removing elements

  5. Pattern intervention techniques • Changing the frequency / rhythm • Changing the duration of the symptom • Changing the moment of the symptom • Changing the place • Changing the intensity • Changing the sequence of events
