  3. STUDENT CONTACT INFORMATION • Students should check their Evergreen email address regularly (daily). • Students need to become familiar with and use my.evergreen.edu regularly (daily). • Keep student addresses up-to-date and current. Addresses can be changed via my.evergreen.edu

  5. DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS • Disbursed the Wednesday before classes begin (Sept. 25th) • Refunds processed and sent out by Student Accounts Friday morning before the start of term. (Sept. 27th) • Tuition due on Friday of the 1st week of classes. (Oct. 4th)

  6. FERPA (Federal Education Right to Privacy Act) Under this Federal law, school officials cannot release information in an education record without written permission from the student. Students can complete a FERPA consent form on my.evergreen.edu Students may revoke (cancel) a FERPA consent at any time by completing a new consent form.

  7. STUDENT EMPLOYMENT • Students can search for jobs on the Community Opportunity Database (CODA) and Greener Commons. • Accessible via my.evergreen.edu • On/Off Campus Jobs and other opportunities • Visit the Student Employment Office for more information. Library Building, 1st Floor, Room 1102 next to Registration. • Attend Student Employment Workshops later this week.

  8. Loan Resources http://www.studentloans.gov • Complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Notes for students • Complete Direct Loan Parent Plus application and Master Promissory Note • Get information about Direct Loan Repayment and Direct Loan Consolidation • View your Financial Aid History for an overview of your cumulative Loan Debt • Contact your Loan Servicer IMMEDIATELY if you are having trouble making payments. You can access your loan servicer information by viewing your financial aid history.

  9. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) • REQUIRED BY THE FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT, but varies by institution • Different than the Academic Standing Policy • IF A STUDENT FAILS TO MEET SAP, the student will be placed on financial aid suspension and will not be eligible for financial aid. • A student can appeal to the Professional Judgment committee for reinstatement of aid. • Appeals are reviewed and approved or denied on a case by case basis. • If a student’s appeal is approved, they could be placed on probation and monitored every quarter for a determined amount of time. • http://www.evergreen.edu/financialaid/sapolicy_undergraduate.htm • (Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy) • http://www.evergreen.edu/registration/academicstanding.htm • (Academic Standing Policy)

Return of Funds • REQUIRED BY THE FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT • The law assumes that students earn financial aid awards in direct proportion to the number of days the student attends. • If the student withdraws OR stops attending DURING the quarter, Evergreen MUST re-calculate the student’s eligibility based on how many days they attended. • This could cause the student to lose eligibility for funds they have already received and it could result in the student owing the College, the Federal Department of Education and/or the State of Washington. • Return of Funds Policy can be found on the Evergreen Financial Aid website
