  1. Simple machines.

  2. A machine: • A machine isaninstrumentthatmultipliesforcetomakeworkfaster and easier. We can classify machines intotwogroups, dependingonfastercomplexity: Simple machines and complex machines.

  3. Simple machines: • Simple machines haveusuallygotoneortwoparts. Theinclinedplane, thepulley and thelevers are simple machines.

  4. Inclined planes: • Ramps are inclined panes thatweustogo up and down. We can also use inclined planes tomove heavy loads more easily. • Thisis a ramp.Thisis a ramp of a burgonet.

  5. Pulleys: • A pulleyis a wheelwithanaxle in the centre and a ropethatrunsaroundtheoutside. We use a pulleytochangethedirection of a forcethatwe are applying.

  6. LEVERS: • A leverconsists of a rigid bar calledthefulcrum. There are threeelements: Theeffort. Theresistance. Thefulcrum. Thisisanexample of at thelevers.

  7. Theeffort: • Effort is the force placed on the simple machine to move the load. Also called applied force or input force. The effort.

  8. The RESISTANCE: • The resistance is the force which an effort force must overcome in order to do work on an object a simple machines. Resistance force, like most other forces, is measured in newtongs or in pounds-force. The resistance.

  9. Thefulcrum: • Thereis a rigid bar thatturnson a fixedpoint. Thefulcrum.

  10. Thelevers 2 part: • The lever is a simple machine consisting of a rigid bar that is free to pivot on a fulcrum. • Depending on the position of the force (F), the load or resistance (R) and the fulcrum, there are : Class 1 lever. Class 2 lever. Class 3 lever.

  11. Photos of thelevers:

  12. Activities: • Whatis a machine? • A machine isaninstrumentthatmultipliesforcetomakeworkfaster and easier. • Simple machines haveusallygot… • Oneortwoparts. • Oneexample of inclined planes. • Ramps.

  13. Activities: • Whatis a pulley? • A pulleyis a wheelwithanaxel n the centre and a ropethatrunsaroundtheoutside. • What are theparts of thelevers? • Theparts of thelevers are theeffort, theresistance and thefulcrum. • Howmanyclass of leversthere are? • There are 3 class.
