When you want to see the Doctor : Our staff have been trained to recognise urgent matters so that those patients with urgent medical problems and those needing longer appointments are accommodated within our appointment system. Staff answering the phone are following this Practice’s guidelines and will ask a series of questions as determined by our Doctors.

  12. Thank you for Waiting…. This practice runs on an appointment system and every effort is made to make sure you get to see your doctor on time.

  13. Patients in this practice are seen in this order: • Emergencies • Patients with an appointment • Patients without an appointment.

  14. Here are some simple ways you can help to make sure you see your doctor on time. • Make an appointment • When making the appointment, let the receptionist know how long you think you will need to see your doctor. • E.g. If you have multiple issues to discuss, you may need a longer appointment or may require more than one consultation.

  15. Make separate appointments for each family member even though you may all arrive together.

  16. Be on time or even better – arrive for your appointment 5 minutes early. • If you have another appointment following your visit to the doctor, ring the practice ½ an hour before you leave and ask if your doctor is running on time. • If you need to cancel your appointment, contact the surgery AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
