Reviewed in 2010 Area 1 Membership Services To supply first class services to members that meets their needs To develop the WSA brand so that membership is highly valued Area 2 Communication – with principal audiences To communicate with members effectively and encourage their dissemination of information To understand members priorities and act accordingly To inform members of important developments in the sector To ensure successful communication enabling collaborative working with partners and stakeholders Area 3 Advocacy - to funders, partners, stakeholders and the public To voice the interests of National Governing Bodies of sport, physical recreation and outdoor pursuits in Wales To emphasise the importance and value of volunteers To promote the importance and value of other agendas such as health, inclusion and the economy through the medium of sport To lobby for the maximum possible resource for the sector To lobby forsensible and balanced legislative and regulatory frameworks Area 4 Management Performance To perform internally as a strong, efficient, ethical, professional and dynamic organisation WSA Strategy & Aims

Structure • The Structure of WSA is formally changing in 2011 • New Company Articles of Association • Smaller remit driven Board (6) – already working • Chairman • Financial Director • Expeditions & Outdoor Sports Director • Communications, Marketing and PR Director • Development and Policy Director • NGB Focused Assistance Director • Increased use of sub groups led by Directors for better member involvement and consultation • Membership still open to all Sports in Wales

Overview of Services Monthly e-news and quarterly newsletter circulated to members and the wider community 14 NGBs utilised our training courses last year 13 Sports have had assistance from Sue Holvey on different aspects of governance and planning 14 Sports have been working on their finance and budgets with Dave Vickery Badminton, Table Tennis and Archery received assistance from our Coach Education Officer WSA provision of a legal helpline links

Overview of Services Informative website, hot topics, templates and advice as well as RSS feeds, news, and opinions WAG consultations, including presentations to Ministers and committees covering such items as Vetting and Barring; High Performance; Provision of Playing Fields and Making the Most of Major Events Sports Safety and Overseas Grants Information sharing with WCVA

  6. All sub groups and links with WSA must have one common object: “To enhance the service to National Governing Bodies and the wider sport sector, including physical recreation and outdoor pursuits” WSA and the Chair’s Group
