  3. Data Presentation for EBSD - Pole Figure • Shows the orientation graphically • Shows whether preferred orientation is present when many measurements are plotted

  4. Data Presentation for EBSD - Pole Figure • A highly populated Pole Figure (one with many different measurements plotted) is useful for evaluating the orientation distribution

  5. Data Presentation for EBSD - Inverse Pole Figure Similar to a Pole Figure, but: • The axes are crystallographic directions, not sample directions as in a pole figure • This conveniently shows the orientation of planes to a chosen surface
