Recommendations To Enhance Success in Closing the Gaps… Strengthen Dual Credit and Tech Prep • Support statewide GPA calculation for dual credit, AP, IB, and some CTE • Implement statewide approved dual credit list • Support efforts for equal dual credit funding to school districts and colleges when students pay college tuition, fees, or textbook costs • Factor dual credit into school district accountability ratings • Support local articulation agreements and Advanced Technical Credit Special Initiatives • Participate in national clearinghouse to track Texas graduates into out-of-state higher ed

Recommendations To Enhance Success in Closing the Gaps… Increase Community College Funding • Support shared priorities reflected in TACC, THECB Commissioner’s recommendations, and Comptroller’s Texas Works report • Increase funding for community colleges • Incentive funding for successful Closing the Gaps initiatives • Accountability funding • Support CTE programs at all levels • Policies to reinforce value (e.g., equal GPA weight for some CTE courses) • Funding to promote increased awareness of CTE certificate and degree opportunities, wages for graduates • Incentive funding for CTE start-up programs
