  1. Aspire to Be Well for Undergraduate Students Alcohol and Other Drugs

  2. Alcohol and Drug Abuse • You’re at a party and there’s a guy playing a drinking game that involves taking shots. He looks totally trashed and the next thing you know, he says, “hey, I’m driving to the next party!” He doesn’t seem to have a group of friends that he’s with, and he starts stumbling out of the door.

  3. Alcohol and Drug Abuse What do you do? What if the next thing that happens is that he passes out on the couch? What do you do then? Ok, so what instead of taking his key, you and your buddies drive him home and he passes out in your car? What do you do then? How do drinking games play into this? What about drinking games that involve beer vs. shots? What are some consequences that someone may face if they choose to drink alcohol? How would you handle this situation differently if you knew this guy or did not know him?

  4. Alcohol and Other Drugs • You go to a party off campus with your friend, and when you get there it seems like everyone is drinking. You notice there is a keg and an assortment of liquor on the counter. You have major test in the morning.

  5. Alcohol and Other Drugs • What should you do? • If you decide to drink, what could you do to pace yourself? • What do you do if people offer you drinks? • What are some good ways to politely refuse a drink?

  6. Alcohol and Other Drugs • Your roommate has been sick all week with a chest infection. She has been taking prescription cough medicine and over the counter flu medicine. Friday night comes around and you notice your friends, including your roommate taking shots.

  7. Alcohol and Other Drugs • How would you approach this situation knowing that your roommate is mixing alcohol and drugs? • What would you say or do? • What would you do if you came home and your roommate was completely out of it? • What happens if you get caught with a prescription medication that doesn’t belong to you?
