  1. 5,000 Firms Study to identify "leading organizational indicators" • We are still recruiting firms to participate in one of the largest workplace prevention studies ever undertaken in Ontario which aims to: • identify the best and most useable set of organizational and management measures of injuries and illnesses • examine the relationship between WSIB claims rates and organizational and management measures • build a benchmarking knowledge base, to develop evidence-based measurement tools, products and services to further support Ontario workplaces in improving their occupational health and safety

  2. 5000 Firms Study – PSHSA IS RECRUITING NOW! • An IWH-- HSA partnership • NOT ALL FIRMS ARE THE SAME • Allows Market Segmentation To Better Target Product and Service Delivery to Meet Client Needs • AN OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS • Provides consultants the opportunity to enrich relationships or begin relationships • BUILD A KNOWLEGDE BASE • The study gets the right name associated with the right company – helps us build CRM • We need benchmarking

  3. How and why is this research being conducted? • After agreeing to participate, firms will be asked to fill out a 20-minute web-based questionnaire, with questions about their safety climate, health & safety management systems, joint health and safety committees, and organizational policies and practices. All data collected will be kept strictly confidential. • Through this research study, we have an opportunity to learn more about which leading indicators, or set of leading indicators, are predictive of future injuries and illnesses. It’s exciting to be involved in work that will fill this critical knowledge gap. • To make this research project a success, it is essential that workplaces see the value in participating and helping to build a benchmarking knowledge database that contains indicators relevant to workplaces and can be used by all sectors across Ontario. • Contact -cseverin@iwh.on.ca
