  2. A Brief Introduction...  Statistics state over 15% (Canadian Council on Social Development, 2006) of disabled individuals are failing to get the attention they need. There is a great need for a program that assists individuals who are coping with disability in the Peel Region.  The need for our program is supported by the region of Peel’s Accessibility Plan (2010) which notes that approximately 171,030 people living in Peel have a disability.  14.8% of the total Peel population have either a visible or non-visable disability.  CLC bridges the gap for those in need of immediate assistance.

Connect 2 Healthy Living Promotes A Healthy Lifestyle For Disabled Adults By... • Encouraging healthy eating using Canada’s Food Guide • Cooking classes and accommodated recipes • Mental health promotion • Healthy relationships and self-esteem building • Providing opportunities for physical activity and exercise program
