  3. Background: Related Projects (II) • UWA. "Ubiquitious web applications". Background: Related Projects (III) • SATURN.“Security Applications and Technologies for Universal infoRmation Networks ”ITEA IP 02 011. • The SATURN project aims at enabling users, enterprises, and administrations, to implement and master, on existing and future networks, a fully trusted security. This supposes to manage the security globally at a system level, considering end-to-end security. Background: Related Projects (IV) • SM-PAYSOC. “Secure Mobile PAYments and Services On Chip”IST-2001-32526. • The main objective of the project is to develop a new generation of smart cards (SIM) of higher capacity and power, and to develop a secure infrastructure that allows its usage. Consortium: AMTEC-Marconi (IT, líder), Bantry Technologies (IRL), Lake (IRL), M-SYSTEMS (IL), REGULUS (IT), Universidad de Siena (IT), Banco MPS (IT), Comune di Grosetto (IT), ERICSSON (ES), Robotiker

  6. Interest and Contribution in DigiNews • Interest and Contribution: • WP2: System Analysis. ROBOTIKER will contribute in the analysis and requirements specification of the system focusing on the security issues (copy protection, DRM system, conditional access). • WP3: Global architecture for basic services. Robotiker is going to contribute in the architecture definition focusing on the security issues. • WP5: Detailed demonstration specification, implementation and validation. Robotiker is going to contribute in the specification and implementation of the security issues of the basic services demonstrator.

  7. Main challenges & identified co-operation • Main challenges: to offer content providers and retailers mechanisms for the secure distribution of digital media files to the digital newspaper, through the use of Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems. • Co-operation between partners active in the same field: conditional access, copy protection.
