AGENDA • System Overview • HQDA Tracking System – First Application – Developed on 1987 • Current Version • Refresh HQDA Tracking System – 2000 to 2003 • Current Version vs. Refresh version • Web Enable Version of the HQDA Tracking System – 2003 to present • Current Version vs. Web Enable Version • Conclusion CIS 505

  3. Tracking System ** Client-Server based application developed in an Oracle Database and using Eastman Image Application ** Allow enter tracking data for correspondence and other applicable, documents. ** ** Documents may originate taskings to other agencies, can be tracked by the originator. ** Users can retrieve tasks as far back as 1995. CIS 505

  4. Benefits: • Reduce the duplication of information. • It will provide you with a flexible system for control filed documentation. • Eliminates tedious manual searching. • Reduce the amount of re-entry. • Offer a variety of Reports. CIS 505

  35. CONCLUSIONS We as System Analysts recommend some basic rules; the following are a few things to consider: 1.Complete description of current document management processes 2.Functional requirements assessment 3.Current computing infrastructure assessment 4.Anticipated budget and purchase timeframe assessment 5.Document Management System Cost justification 6.Identify the organization decision makers 7.Implementation timeframe
